Biography

Dr. Martin Glöckler, MD, is a pediatric cardiologist and intensivist at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, where he has been a member of the cardiac catheterization team since December 2024. He is also a Professor at the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, committed to advancing education in pediatric cardiology. After completing his medical training and residency at Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg in Germany, Dr. Glöckler specialized in pediatric cardiology and intensive care at the University Hospital Erlangen, where he served as Deputy Head of the Department of Pediatric Cardiology and Head of the Pediatric Catheterization Laboratory from 2014 to 2018.

From 2018 to 2024, Dr. Glöckler was Medical Director of Pediatric Cardiology in Bern, Switzerland, where he led cardiac catheterization procedures for patients with congenital heart defects. His research, spanning over 18 years, focuses on Integrative Multimodal Imaging in Pediatric Cardiology, with a particular emphasis on using 3D imaging and modeling to optimize the planning and execution of invasive procedures. Dr. Glöckler is passionate about integrating innovative imaging techniques into clinical care, research, and teaching to improve outcomes for children with complex cardiac conditions.
