Dr. Ilan Buffo

After completing his medical training at Mexico’s National University, Dr. Ilan Buffo, went on to complete a Pediatric Residency at the National Medical Centre (where he served as Chief Pediatric Resident). He joined the pediatric cardiology team at the Children’ Hospital, HSC, in Winnipeg after completing fellowships in Mexico and at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

Dr. Buffo is an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Manitoba where is he is the director of pediatric electrophysiology. He oversees all pediatric electrophysiological testing for the province and also provides outreach cardiology services to the Northern Regional Health Authority based out of Thompson, MB. He is also actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and is the recipient of numerous teaching awards. He has also held grants from prestigious institutes including the CHRI and The Physicians’ Services Incorporated Foundation Grant.
