Dr. Daryl Schantz

Born and raised in the province, Dr. Daryl Schantz completed medical school at the University of Manitoba, in Winnipeg. He joined the team at the Children’s Hospital, HSC after completing a Pediatric Cardiac Fellowship at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Schantz is board certified by both the American Board of Pediatrics and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Canada. In terms of clinical care, he is the director of cardiac MRI services and director of the pediatric cardiology outreach program (where he personally provides clinical service in Nunavut and northern Manitoba). He is actively engaged as an educator and currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Manitoba.

Dr. Schantz has received numerous awards for his work, including a Clinical Teaching Award from the University of Manitoba and the Carl Duerksen Fellowship for his pediatric inpatient and outpatient care efforts in Madagascar.
