Biography

Dr. Louis Scheepers is the Head of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia at BC Children’s Hospital. Originally from South Africa, Dr. Scheepers completed his medical training at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. He has been part of the BC team since 1992 (starting as a resident and fellow) and served as a Pediatric Anesthetist before moving into his current leadership role.

In addition to clinical activities, Dr. Scheepers is an active educator within the University of British Columbia Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor and a Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor.
