Dr. Iman Naimi, FSCAI received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. He went on to complete Residency training in Pediatrics at the Golisano Children’s Hospital in New York and two fellowships (Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Interventional Cardiology) at the Seattle Children’s Hospital & University of Washington Medical Center. He joined the Edmonton Stollery team in 2021 as a Congenital Interventional Cardiologist performing catheter-based interventions for patients with complex congenital heart disease, including transcatheter valve implantation and catheter closure of PDA in premature infants. He joined the BC Children’s Hospital team in 2025. Dr. Naimi has a clinical interest in novel transcatheter technologies including fenestrated ASD occluder, Atrial Flow Regulator, and transcatheter heart valves.
Dr. Naimi has a number of research interests that center around his clinical role in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, including transcatheter heart valve implants, Fontan physiology, and 3D remodeling. His previous research has centered on interventional cardiology and Kawasaki Disease.
Dr. Naimi is also an active educator at the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine, where he serves as Assistant Clinical Professor within the Department of Pediatrics.
Dr. Naimi has received recognition as a student for his academic excellence, and was inducted into the Iota Epsilon Alpha International Medical Honor Society. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology in both the US and Canada.
