Dr. Erika Vorhies

Dr. Erika Vorhies earned her medical degree from the University of Alberta before completing pediatric residency at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, in Calgary. She went on to complete fellowships in Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care and Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension at the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Michigan.

Dr. Vorhies has been a member of the Pediatric Cardiology team at Alberta Children’s Hospital since July 2014. In addition, Dr. Vorhies holds a joint appointment as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Calgary. Her research interests include pediatric pulmonary hypertension diagnosis and management.

As an educator, Dr. Vorhies works with students at the Cumming School of Medicine where she serves on a number of educational committees including the PGME Pediatric Residency Program Committee and Pediatric Competency Committee. She is the Pediatric Cardiology Educational Lead and is also a faculty advisor and CARMS File Reviewer/interviewer for the Post Graduate Medical Education (PGME) program.
