Dr. Eva Kapravelou

Dr. Eva Kapravelou is a Pediatric Cardiologist at British Columbia Children’s Hospital (BCCH) with a specialized focus on advanced echocardiography. Originally from Greece, she completed her medical and pediatrics training in Thessaloniki before relocating to the United Kingdom. In 2022, she earned her Certificate of Completion of Training in Pediatric Cardiology from the North West Deanery, UK. Dr. Kapravelou has completed two prestigious fellowships in Advanced Echocardiography: one at British Columbia Children’s Hospital, including a rotation at Stollery Children’s Hospital, and another at Evelina London Children’s Hospital. She began her professional career as staff at Bristol Children’s Hospital from 2022 to 2024 and joined BCCH in July 2024.

Dr. Kapravelou is a certified congenital heart disease echocardiographer accredited by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI). At BCCH, she provides a comprehensive advanced echocardiography service, supporting specialized clinics, inpatient care, the cardiac catheterization lab, and intraoperative procedures. Notably, she has integrated 3D echocardiography as a routine practice within her department, enhancing diagnostic precision and patient care.

Passionate about teaching and quality improvement, Dr. Kapravelou has been instrumental in initiatives such as implementing the Technical Performance Score for echocardiographic quality improvement at Evelina London. She is a dedicated educator, sharing her expertise with medical students, nurses, junior doctors, and interdisciplinary teams, fostering knowledge and enthusiasm for advanced echocardiography.
