Biography

Andrea Pisesky, MBBS (Hon), FRCPC, is an Academic Cardiac Critical Care Physician with extensive training and expertise in pediatric cardiac care. She completed her medical degree with honors at Hull York Medical School in the UK, followed by fellowships in Pediatric Critical Care, Cardiology, and Echocardiography at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Her additional certifications and specialized training in congenital heart disease morphology, cardiac imaging, and quality improvement reflect her commitment to advancing care for children with complex cardiac conditions. Recognized for her leadership, she has received numerous awards, including the Dr. Dolly Singh Teaching Award and the National Winner for Best Research Project.

A dedicated researcher and educator, Andrea focuses on psychosocial outcomes following critical illness, personalized decision-making, and patient safety. She has secured prestigious research funding and published widely on topics such as cardiac imaging and critical care outcomes. In addition to her scholarly work, she is active in professional societies like the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society and the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, while also contributing to trainee wellness and quality improvement initiatives.
